Overview
***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***
Under the supervision of the Port Agent, the Stevedore Chief is responsible for all longshoring and directs the work of stevedores.
Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
+ Drives lift trucks on docs or aboard ships to transfer items.
+ Drives tractors and operates equipment to load/unload trailers dockside.
+ Marks containers appropriately.
+ Sorts cargo for load/unload.
+ Installs bracing, strapping and other protective devices.
+ Stacks cargo as required.
+ Attaches slings appropriately for cargo lift.
+ Performs rigging.
+ Operates a variety of heavy equipment.
+ Performs all other duties inherent to the role.
