Storage Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, EMC, Hitachi, Dell, HPE, etc.).


• Perform provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of SAN/NAS environments.


• Manage storage capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle upgrades.


• Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions using tools like Commvault, Veeam, or Veritas NetBackup.


• Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud teams to ensure seamless data access and integrity.


• Monitor and troubleshoot storage-related issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.


• Maintain documentation for storage architecture, procedures, and policies.


• Support audits and compliance efforts related to data storage and retention.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage administration.


• Expertise in SAN/NAS technologies (e.g., NetApp ONTAP, EMC VNX/Unity, HPE 3PAR).


• Strong knowledge of RAID levels, LUN masking, zoning, and multipathing.


• Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools and strategies.


• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and reporting.


• Understanding of ITIL processes and change management.


• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as NetApp NCDA, EMC Proven Professional, or equivalent.


• Experience with cloud storage (AWS EBS/S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).


• Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and integration with storage.


• Knowledge of data security and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001).
