Stores Manager

JOB OBJECTIVES

To manage and control end to end inventory of raw materials, consumables, chemicals packaging items, tools, spare parts and finished goods. The role ensures timely material availability, zero stocks outs, proper storage systems, efficient inbound & outbound processes, and accurate documentation to support uninterrupted factory operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Stores & Inventory Management

• Manage receipt, storage issuance, return and dispatch of raw materials, consumables, chemicals, tools and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate stock records through ERP and physical documentation.
• Ensure proper storage conditions for lens chemicals, coating consumables and other sensitive items.
• Conduct daily cycle counts and monthly stock reconciliation with Finance & Production.

Material Planning & Availability

• Monitor minimum order quantities, safety stock levels, reorder points and stock expiry.
• Communicate shortages to Planning & Purchase to avoid production stoppage.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices, especially for chemicals, coatings and packaging

Documentation, ERP & Compliance

• Maintain GRNs, inward/outward gate entries, purchase receipts, test certificates, vendor returns and rejection records.
• Ensure barcode/ERP updates for stock accuracy and traceability.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits, process audits) complete documentation.

Coordination with Cross Functional Teams

• Work closely with Production, QC, Engineering, Purchase and Finance to ensure seamless inventory flow.
• Coordinate with QC for material inspection before acceptance & documentation.

Warehouse Safety & 5S

• Implement 5S, safe stacking, labelling, segregation and material flow discipline in the stores area.
• Ensure MSDS compliance, hazardous chemical storage requirements, PPE usage and spill management protocols.
• Inspect conditions of racks, pallets drums & packaging material to prevent contamination or spill loss.

Finished Goods Management & Dispatch

• Maintain FG stocking, GRN closing, labelling, batch traceability, packaging and dispatch documentation.
• Coordinate with logistics for shipment planning, pickups, tracking and customer dispatch details

Qualifications

• Graduate/Diploma in Materials Management/Logistics
• 9-16 Years
