Job Description
The Indirect Procurement Manager will play a key role in structuring, developing and consolidating the Indirect Procurement function in Mexico, in line with global standards and local business priorities.
Reporting to the CFO Mexico, this position will act as a strategic partner to the business, driving value creation through disciplined sourcing, cost optimization, supplier risk management and the continuous transformation of procurement ways of working.
The role includes leadership responsibility , contributing to team development, change management and the successful delivery of cross-functional transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Governance and Function Development
- Design, implement and ensure compliance with Indirect Procurement policies, processes and approval frameworks.
- Contribute to the deployment and continuous improvement of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) model in collaboration with Finance and IT.
- Define and execute the Indirect Procurement roadmap for the Mexican market, aligned with business priorities and global guidelines.
- Monitor performance through KPIs, savings tracking and executive-level reporting.
- Ensure full adoption and effective use of the COUPA procurement platform.
Strategic Sourcing & Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted procurement partner to business stakeholders, supporting supplier selection through competitive sourcing processes (RFPs, cost analysis, negotiations).
- Lead sourcing projects across all Indirect Procurement categories, including:
- Marketing & Customer Experience
- Professional Services
- Retail & Facilities Services
- Travel & Expenses
- Logistics & Transportation
- IT & Telecommunications
- Human Resources
- Coordinate closely with Legal (internal and external) on contractual frameworks and negotiations.
Spend, Value & Project Management
- Analyze supplier spend using financial and reporting tools.
- Ensure accurate spend categorization and budget discipline.
- Identify and deliver cost optimization, cost avoidance and value creation initiatives.
- Lead procurement-related projects end-to-end, from opportunity identification through implementation and benefits tracking.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Lead supplier compliance, due diligence and risk assessment processes.
- Manage supplier onboarding in collaboration with Finance.
- Monitor supplier performance through structured reviews, KPIs and reporting.
- Coordinate supplier audits and oversee corrective action plans with business stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development, engagement and performance management of the Indirect Procurement team.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to team members and extended procurement contributors.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Actively support change management initiatives related to procurement transformation, new tools, processes or organizational evolutions.
- Promote agility, adaptability and a solution-oriented mindset within the team and across stakeholders.
Sustainability & ESG
- Integrate ESG criteria into sourcing strategies and supplier evaluations.
- Support the collection of supplier data related to carbon footprint and sustainability reporting.
- Ensure suppliers have the capability to provide required ESG information or identify appropriate alternatives.
What are we looking for?
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Procurement Consulting.
- Prior exposure to people management, team coordination or project leadership preferred.
- Experience within Retail, Luxury, FMCG or customer-centric environments is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement transformation and cost optimization initiatives.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Structured, proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to lead change, manage ambiguity and adapt in a fast-evolving environment.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
- Clear, confident and professional communication style.
Technical Knowledge
- End-to-end understanding of the Source-to-Pay process.
- Mandatory experience with Coupa or comparable procurement platforms.
