Job Description

We are currently seeking a Structural BIM Coordinator in Atlanta, GA who will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of structural engineering documentation through effective modeling, coordination, and adherence to BIM and firm standards. The ideal candidate must be able to carry out all essential responsibilities efficiently, with any necessary accommodations provided as needed.

Primary Duties


  • Create, revise, and review Revit models, plans, details, and drawings for structural systems following established standards and best modeling practices.




  • Interpret sketches, layouts, and verbal instructions given by the structural engineering team.




  • Manage and upkeep BIM models and project documentation across various projects.




  • Collaborate closely with project teams to meet tight project deadlines.




  • Ensure all work is produced accurately, clearly, and comprehensively.




  • Conduct model coordination reviews to identify clearances, conflicts, and proper system relationships.




  • Apply sound modeling principles to create coordinated and constructible drawings.




  • Develop drawing schedules and data charts, making edits as needed in coordination with engineers.




  • Implement and adhere to Best Practices for all BIM processes and deliverables.




  • Stay updated on changes in structural engineering practices, regulations, and BIM technologies.




  • Engage in professional associations, BIM/Revit user groups, and conferences as approved.




  • Promote and uphold sustainable workplace and design principles.


  • Qualifications & Background


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.




  • Associate degree in Building Information Modeling, Computer-Aided Drafting, or related technical certification preferred.




  • One to three-plus years of experience in structural BIM modeling using Revit.




  • Completion of Revit Structural coursework preferred.




  • Familiarity with structural modeling, editing, dimensioning, and drawing standards.




  • LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.


  • Skills & Abilities


  • Basic understanding of structural design principles, tools, and production techniques.




  • Proficiency in Revit required; experience with BIM and AutoCAD is a plus.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.




  • Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines preferred.




  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.




  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.




  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team environment.




  • Willingness and aptitude to learn advanced BIM functions and help in identifying and resolving design conflicts.
