Selectek has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer Project Manager looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing Civil/Structural firm. As a Structural Engineer Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various projects across a wide range of industries, ensuring sound structural engineering, compliance with regulations, and completion within both scheduling and budget constraints. You will work with a team of engineers and cross-functional professionals, coordinating their efforts to deliver high-quality results, within budget and on time.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER PROJECT MANAGER

Project Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timeline, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.

  • Structural Engineering Analysis:
  • As needed, conduct or guide staff in analysis and assessments to ensure designs meet safety standards, local/state and federal codes and ae in compliance with acceptable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.

  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, drafters, and other project staff.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring each team member understands their responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging creativity and professional growth.

  • Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure construction materials and methods meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or deviations from plans.
  • Review and approve project deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to design requirements.

  • Client Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, budget, and any potential risks or challenges.
  • Proactively address client concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, striving to exceed expectations and maintain positive relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or future collaboration with clients

  • Risk Management and Problem-Solving:
  • Identify potential risks and obstacles to project success, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts or issues that arise during the construction process, seeking input from stakeholders as needed.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively to keep projects on track.

  • Financial Management
  • Work with project accounting to ensure accounts receivable for your projects are collected in a timely manner in accordance with contract payment terms.
  • Continuously monitor project budgets and manage work to remain within budget. Responsible for the delivery of projects, for yourself and within your team, on budget.
  • Ensure written authorization and executed contracts have been received before starting work or a variance from this policy has been approved by the Senior Principal or CEO.
  • Contributes to the organization’s target revenue and sales targets for the fiscal year.
  • Meet or exceed utilization goals for technical staff, project managers and yourself

  • Business Development (up to 20% of the time)
  • Continuously developing and winning work with new and existing clients
  • Assists the Director and/or Principal with developing business with assigned clients
  • Prepare proposals, including scopes, schedules, and fees.
  • Actively participate in industry events and conferences











  • Required:
  • Bachelor of Science from an ABET accredited program with a focus on Structural Engineering
  • Experience in Project Management
  • 7+ years as a Structural Engineer for Industrial or Commercial Building projects
  • Experience leading projects and other engineers
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
  • Strong communication and organizational Skills



  • Preferred:
  • PE or ability to gain PE shortly after hire



  • Sponsorship: No, they will not do this. They need to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

    Pay range: $43/hour - $72/hour ($90,000 - $150,000 when direct)

    Term of assignment: 6 months contract to direct or Direct Hire

    Pay method when direct: Salary no OT

    Location of job: Blue Bell, PA 19422 / Greenville, SC 29610 / Remote

    Hours and shift: Monday – Friday, 8 hours day

    Work from home: If local to an office, they tend to do 3 days in and 2 at home each week

    Working remote: Yes, open to a fully remote worker

    Overtime expected: Minimal/Deadline driven

    Travel: As needed; There will be times they would need to visit client sites but not on a regular basis

    Work attire: Business casual
