Hauptaufgaben

Incumbent constructs, alters, repairs, and maintains skeletons and other structures made of bricks, stones, plain or reinforced concrete, insulating bricks, etc. Visits locations where items are to be constructed or repaired, takes measurements and determines proper dimensions; plans and lays out work based on findings and requirements addressed in work orders, service order, and sketches. Provides masonry Support to the DPW shops (Plumber, Electrical, Mechanical, Metal, Carpentry) to install various fixtures such as water closets, bowls, showers, light fixtures, vents, gates, etc. Constructs, repairs, lays-out, installs, and applies internal finishes on buildings such as platters, floors, false ceilings, and coverings. Installs marble ceramic or grease tiles on walls, preparing the subsurface with sand or cement for a correct installation. Installs, repairs, and alters false ceilings, making sure they are leveled and adequately fixed on-supports by using electric drill, spirit levels, hammers, etc. Measures, modifies, builds, and installs various types of insect screens with aluminum profile; replaces gaskets and reinforces installed frames. Installs and repairs Venetian blinds, vertical sliding blinds, and aluminum shutters (barracks). Installs and repairs panic hardware on exterior safety doors. Replaces or repairs hydraulic closet doors both floor and arm top type. Builds fireproof gypsum or aluminum partitions with galvanized steel structure. Applies enamel, spur varnish, and lakes using paintbrushes and rollers on plywood and wooden boards. Repairs and maintains roofs made of roof tiles, plastic corrugated sheet or bituminous waterproof membrane. Installs metal sheets or plastic corrugated sheets to cover sheds or prefabricated buildings. Repairs, replaces, and lays plastic or concrete pipes for the drainage of flat area or for rainwater outlet from roofs. Repairs and maintains a variety of items such as sidewalks, marble stairs, chimneys and flues, skylights, ramps, exterior stone or marble base boards.

NOTE: Position requires considerable physical efforts such as working on ladders, scaffolding and roofs, and handling and lifting heavy weights. Incumbent may be required to work in noisy or restricted areas, such as excavations of utility lines, and in bad weather conditions.
Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

3. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC. (INCLUDES BLUEPRINT READING);
4. MEASUREMENT AND LAYOUT;
5. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
6. KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS;
7. DEXTERITY AND SAFETY.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient experience to meet the requirements of the position. You will be rated based on the experience described in your application and the documents that are submitted.
