A DAY IN THE LIFE…

  •  Studies engineering drawings and blueprints, determines the materials required and plans the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
  • Prepares materials prior to assembly.
  • Lays out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications.
  • Rigs, hoists and moves materials to storage areas or within worksite.
  • Sets up and operates various heavy-duty metal-working machines such as cutting torches, grinders and drills, and punch.
  • Fits up fabrication assembly to welding stage.
  • Accurately torch cuts main members to size, if required.
  • Details necessary pieces, if required.
  • Installs fabricated components in final product.
  • Completes quick precision layout of assembly.
  • Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required.
