**Job Title: Welder Fitter**
**$45/hour & $140 in per diem**
This position is located in Newport News, Virginia or Charleston, SC
+ Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
+ Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen/propane burning torches.
+ Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
+ Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
+ Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.
+ Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
+ Utilize vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.
