Overview

Key Purpose of the role. BT relies on submarine cables to form the backbone of the global transmission network delivering services and products to BT’s multinational corporate customers. Over 99% of the world’s digital traffic is carried across submarine cables. BT has the largest UK domestic submarine cable footprint, carrying services such as broadband and mobile backhaul, meeting UK consumer and business customers expectations.

This role will help to ensure that the BT Subsea Cable systems and everything associated with them meet the requirements of BT and external customers. The role holder will be a trusted engineer, capable of undertaking detailed and complex fault finding and rectification of subsea faults as well as maintaining the health and safety of others as part of day-to-day duties. The responsibility for the security, safety and operation of the site they are working at falls on them, daily.
