What you will do

  • Develop, specify, and apply subsea hardware design criteria for wide variety of activities, developments, and operations, large-scale deepwater capital projects, R&D programs and offshore installation activities

  • Provide management with sound recommendations and context for subsea hardware design philosophies and strategic contracting decisions

  • Involvement in various subsea project support efforts from concept evaluation and selection to commissioning and start up

  • Interface with contractors and sub-contractors and ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements including review of discipline design drawings and documents

  • Develop and carry out procedures for FAT, EFAT, SIT, pre-loadout and installation of subsea hardware

  • Participate in risk assessments, root cause failure analyses, technology evaluations/selections, and offshore installation of subsea hardware Interface with people from different disciplines ( marine, risers, pipelines, flow assurance) to align on work scopes and work products.

  • Work with Other Subsea Disciplines such as Subsea Controls, Subsea Operations to align on work scopes and work products

  • Monitor and provide engineering oversight of third-party engineering contractors and service providers to various Business Units

  • Sustain and promote ExxonMobil’s safety culture

    • About You

    Skills and Qualification

  • or degree in Subsea, Offshore, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines

  • 3 to 13 years of experience in subsea engineering design or operations with expertise in one of the following - subsea systems/ subsea operations/ subsea hardware/ subsea processing working knowledge of Subsea Production System Hardware (Wellhead, Tree, Manifold, Jumpers, Connectors)

  • Working Knowledge of Offshore Installation Activities

  • Working knowledge of applying subsea engineering codes & standards, such as API 17D/6A/17H, ASME and other relevant API, IOGP, and ASME subsea hardware and piping standards

  • Familiar with typical equipment and component selection drivers & tradeoffs, failure modes and demonstrated ability to diagnose the problem

  • Awareness of subsea system architecture, and fundamental subsea hardware functionality

  • Familiar with operation of typical subsea system including general layout, process flow and chemical distribution

  • Familiar with the different types of subsea control systems (SCM, SDU, UTA, Flying leads), topside systems (MCS, EPU and HPU) and interfaces

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as per business needs (<10%)

  • Strong listening, verbal & written communication skills in English

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to mentor others and work with globally diverse business teams

  • Flexible to work in shifts PM – PM IST
