Substation Protection & Control Technician

Responsibilities

Assist others with performing and completing documentation required for testing equipment on the substation protection system. Protection system components include, but are not limited to, potential transformers, current transformers, DC control circuits, AC control circuits, substation batteries, circuit breaker components, protective relays, and communication systems (RTU). Assist with calibration and performance functional testing on microprocessor and electromechanical type relays in accordance with the manufacture specifications. Assist in the installation, maintenance, analyzation, and troubleshooting of remote terminal units (RTU’s), network port switches, SCADA equipment, substation battery systems, transformer control circuits, voltage regulation relays and controls, breaker control circuits, and protective relays.
