Superintendent – Industrial / Light Industrial Construction
A long-standing and financially secure general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on industrial and light industrial construction projects. This role carries full responsibility for on-site execution, including safety, schedule, quality, and coordination of all trades.
This position requires travel to active project sites and is best suited for a Superintendent who prefers to be in the field, setting the pace of work, solving problems as they arise, and delivering complex projects in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations from mobilization through project completion
- Develop and manage site logistics, sequencing plans, and short-interval schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, and daily site activities
- Enforce safety standards and maintain a strong safety culture on site
- Drive productivity and address field issues to keep projects on schedule
- Work closely with Project Managers to align field execution with project objectives
- Review plans and specifications to identify and resolve conflicts early
- Maintain accurate daily reporting, progress tracking, and look-ahead planning
- Represent the company on site with owners, inspectors, and design partners
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on industrial or light industrial projects
- Experience with food and beverage production, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, or similar project type
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and site logistics
- Proven ability to lead crews and manage subcontractors in active construction environments
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Construction-related education or training preferred
