Solaris Biotech, a Donaldson brand under Life Science & Special Application that Designs and Manufactures Bioprocessing equipment, including Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) systems for R&D and production purposes.
We engage in providing high-tech bioprocess solutions, our products are used in Universities, Research Centers, as well as in Biotech, Pharma, Food and Beverage, Nutraceutical, Cosmeceutical, Chemical, Agricultural industries, and, not to mention bioplastics and biofuels applications.
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible in overseeing sourcing activities, driving cost-effective purchasing decisions, and ensuring strong supplier relationships that support organizational goals. It is an ideal opportunity for a proactive, strategic professional who is looking for a dynamic environment.
The position will be based in Porto Mantovano (MN) - Italy.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage daily purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresCost control & reporting: monitor spending, analyze cost trends, and prepare periodic performance reports (eg. Interaction with Quality dpt).Project support & Coordination: collaborate with internal departments (e.g. project managers, process engineers, production, finance) to cover project needs and monitoring costsTeam leadership: supervise a team, providing guidance and performance evaluationsSupplier management: identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers; negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery times (direct & indirect suppliers)Sourcing & negotiation: lead strategic sourcing initiatives and conduct competitive bidding to achieve cost savings and value improvementsMinimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Bachelor degree8-10 years of experience in the role of ProcurementStrong knowledge of procurement processes & regulations (Understanding of sourcing strategies, contract law basics)Strong Supplier evaluation & negotiation skills: ability to conduct supplier assessments, negotiate pricing, and manage contract terms effectivelyGood Financial knowledge: understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, invoicing, and cost-saving calculationsStrong Leadership skills with the ability to lead peoplePro-active attitude and ability to take decisions when necessaryAdvanced/Fluent English is mandatoryStrong Knowledge of MS Office packageExperience in using an ERP System
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Oracle R12 systemExperience in buying mechanical, stainless steel componentsExperience in managing of indirect costs and contracts (eg. Maintenance costs, utilities, EHS costs..)
