Overview

The ultrasound supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all the ultrasound departments within the Methodist Hospitals system to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role combines advanced clinical knowledge with leadership responsibilities, including supervising staff, managing workflow, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating with physicians and other departments.

  • Supervise sonographers, externs, and students to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and coordinate staff schedules to provide adequate coverage. Monitor staffing to stay within the productivity and overtime expectations. Manage daily operations and flex staff to other locations as needed. Obtain coverage when call offs.
