Job Description

The Role:

Key Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Planning & Procurement

- Develop and execute procurement plans for raw materials, packaging, and promotional items based on sales forecasts and production plans.

- Identify and onboard suppliers, negotiate terms, and ensure timely procurement at optimal costs.

- Maintain supplier performance records for quality, lead times, and pricing.


2. Production Planning & Coordination

- Work with the Production Head to prepare daily/weekly/monthly production schedules.

- Ensure availability of materials to avoid production downtime.

- Track production efficiency and address bottlenecks.


3. Inventory Management

- Maintain optimal stock levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

- Implement FIFO & FEFO methods to prevent expiry-related losses.

- Oversee stock audits and reconcile physical and system inventory.


4. Warehousing & Storage

- Supervise warehouse operations ensuring clean, safe, and compliant storage of food products.

- Implement layout and storage systems for efficient picking and dispatch.

- Ensure FSSAI compliance, pest control, and hygiene protocols.


5. Logistics & Dispatch

- Plan and execute timely dispatches for E-commerce, Quick Commerce, and traditional retail orders.

- Negotiate with logistics partners to optimize delivery costs and timelines.

- Monitor on-time delivery (OTD) and order accuracy.


6. Process Optimization

- Identify cost-saving opportunities in supply chain and operations without compromising quality.

- Automate and digitize processes for real-time tracking of orders and stock.

- Implement KPIs dashboards for visibility on performance metrics.


7. Compliance & Documentation

- Maintain documentation for GRNs, stock transfers, dispatch notes, and e-way bills

- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, labor laws, and safety regulations.

- Prepare for internal and external audits.


8. Cross-Department Coordination

- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, QA, and Finance teams to ensure smooth operations.

- Provide inputs for sales planning and promotional campaigns based on operational feasibility.

Ideal Profile:

Skills & Competencies Required

- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of FMCG manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution.

- Proficiency in ERP/WMS software (Tally, Zoho Inventory, SAP, etc.).

- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills.

- Ability to handle pressure and tight timelines.


Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.

- 5-10 years experience in FMCG / Food Industry operations & supply chain roles.

- Familiarity with E-commerce & Quick Commerce order fulfillment models.


KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

1. Order Fulfilment Accuracy (% of orders dispatched correctly).

2. On-Time Delivery Rate (E-commerce & Quick Commerce separately).

3. Inventory Accuracy (% match between system & physical stock).

4. Cost per Dispatch (logistics cost efficiency).

5. Stock Loss % (due to expiry, damage, or pilferage).

6. Production Downtime Hours (due to material unavailability).

7. Supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) Performance
