Job Description
SSAI seeks a Support Scientist V to support an Earth Science contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The candidate will provide advanced scientific and technical support for the investigation, development, testing, and operational transition of next-generation land data assimilation and hydrological modeling capabilities within the Land Information System (LIS).
Required Qualifications
+ Doctorate degree in computer science, earth system science, atmospheric science or related field and 10 years’ experience in software engineering or development. Or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated experience in scientific programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Fortran, C/C++, shell scripting)
+ Experience with Git/GitLab-based configuration management, version control, and software delivery processes
