We are seeking a reliable, motivated and values-aligned Disability Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Redcliffe. This role includes a mix of 1:1 community support and centre-based support within a dynamic Learning & Lifestyle (L&L) environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a positive energy, can-do attitude who can actively motivate and engage clients. No previous experience is required, however candidates who are undertaking or willing to undertake a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) will be highly regarded as this demonstrates a commitment to the sector.

The role supports a client who requires positive encouragement, strong communication, and consistent support, as well as participation in a busy centre environment with a supportive team.

Key duties:

• Supporting people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing daily living skills such as housekeeping, social skills and community participation.
• Providing 1:1 support, including community access for a participant living in an external SIL environment.
• Assisting with personal care where required, in line with individual preferences and support plans.
• Supporting participation in centre-based activities within a team of 5 staff supporting approximately 35 clients, creating a dynamic and engaging environment.
• Transporting clients
• Supporting clients with outings such as appointments and recreational events.
• Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
• Maintaining strong communication with clients, colleagues and leaders to support clients with diverse learning needs.
• Using technology, apps and systems to record progress and communicate.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility to work both 1:1 and in a centre-based environment
• Confidence using technology, apps and digital systems

We also require:

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous but not essential
• Willingness to undertake training and development
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role
• Current or willingness to obtain:
– Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
– NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
– First Aid & CPR
– National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work)
- An open Driver’s Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle

Hours of work:

• Current hours: Monday & Tuesday, 9:00am – 1:00pm
• Upcoming opportunity: Covering staff leave from February/March for a minimum of 6 months, with the potential to increase to Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm (subject to confirmation)
