Survey Crew Chief — Civil Engineering Firm (Frederick, MD)


We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our growing civil engineering team in the Frederick, MD area. This role is ideal for a motivated field leader who takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and delivering high-quality surveying services for land development, infrastructure, and site design projects.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead field survey crews for boundary, topographic, construction layout, and ALTA/NSPS surveys

  • Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors to capture precise field data

  • Interpret plans, coordinate with project managers and engineers, and ensure survey work meets project requirements

  • Maintain field documentation, crew safety practices, and equipment readiness

  • Train and mentor junior field staff as needed
