Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic professional to lead and drive our biodiversity conservation policy, strategy, and landscape governance initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in integrated landscape conservation, multilateral environmental governance, stakeholder engagement, and conservation project development and implementation. The ideal candidate will spearhead the design and execution of large-scale biodiversity conservation programs, coordinate multi-stakeholder partnerships, align projects with global frameworks such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and represent the organization in high level policy dialogues and international fora.


Key Responsibilities:


Policy Research & Advocacy

• Conduct advanced policy research, develop policy briefs, and lead advocacy efforts to influence biodiversity governance at local, national, and international levels.

• Represent the organization at UN conventions, CoP negotiations, and other multilateral environmental agreements.


Program & Project Management

• Design, manage, and monitor integrated landscape conservation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance with donor requirements.

• Develop and implement Local Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (LBSAPs) for municipalities and regional governments.


Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with government agencies, multilateral organizations, NGOs, and community stakeholders to drive collaborative conservation action.

• Lead government liaisoning and stakeholder consultations for policy alignment and project delivery.


Research & Technical Expertise

• Provide technical inputs on infrastructure impact assessments, ecological connectivity, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, and nature-based solutions.

• Draft technical guidelines and implementation manuals for large-scale eco-restoration and biodiversity mainstreaming.


External Communications & Publications

• Develop communication materials, policy notes, and publications to disseminate research findings.

• Contribute to knowledge-sharing platforms, blogs, and articles on biodiversity conservation trends and strategies.


Fundraising & Partnership Development

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities; prepare grant proposals and manage donor reporting. • Build partnerships with conservation alliances, youth networks, and international biodiversity consultants.


Qualification:

• Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Conservation Leadership, or related fields.

• 15+ years of relevant experience in biodiversity conservation, landscape governance, and policy research.

• Proven track record of leading complex conservation projects across diverse geographies.

• Demonstrated experience in multilateral negotiations and representing organizations in international forums.

• Strong understanding of UNCBD, SDGs, TNFD, and other global biodiversity frameworks.

• Exceptional research, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; published articles and presentations at conferences a plus.
