**Job description**



Overview:

In this role, the Principal Engineer (Systems Architect, Mechanical) will be responsible for System Design of various Actuation Systems product lines including Power Door Opening System (PDOS), Thrust Reverser Actuation Systems (TRAS) and Highlift Flap and Slat Actuation systems and will actively participate in NPI (New Product Introduction), redesign and technology programs of Safran Electronics & Defense Business unit.



Primary Responsibilities:



• Understand system requirements, design intent, and comply with applicable practices, standard works, aerospace standards, customer requirements and regulatory requirements

• Develop system/product level concept & architecture

• Support program and technical reviews as and when required during design & development cycle

• Lead the systems activities for NPI, technology programs and resolve design issues

• Own and maintain technical processes and standard work

• Facilitate and drive the resolution production issues and field failure investigations

• Support Bid & Proposal for new products

• Be self-motivated and keen to get involved in new technologies and projects and learn new skills to map out future career path

• Actively participate in a team environment and work with customers, suppliers, and cross functional teams for product development



**Candidate skills & requirements**



Basic Qualifications:



• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.

• Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals and engineering materials

• 12 to 16 years of industry experience in Systems Engineering including 4+ years as System Architect



Preferred Qualifications:



• Experience in hydraulic and electro-mechanical products

• Knowledge of engineering materials & manufacturing processes is a plus

• Knowledge of aerospace product compliance, qualification, and certification
