Job Description Summary


Position Overview:

We are looking for a Junior System Engineer (R&D), who will be part of the Design & Development team and will work on controller hardware used in Keus products. This role focuses on learning and supporting hardware design, PCB development, system architecture, testing, and debugging activities.

The engineer will gain hands-on exposure to electronics, microcontrollers, PCB layout, and basic firmware interaction (Arduino / embedded C), while working closely with senior hardware engineers, motor designers, software, and mechanical teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support schematic design and PCB layout activities.
  • Assist in the development of hardware platforms for prototyping and product testing.
  • Help define system architecture based on functional and performance requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select electronic components suitable for the application.
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including system architecture, HLD, LLD, and physical design specifications.
  • Support design release activities for manufacturing and PCB fabrication.
  • Assist with prototype assembly, including hand soldering, and support PCBA testing during production runs.
  • Develop and execute basic hardware and system test plans in collaboration with mechanical and software teams.
  • Perform section-wise testing and board bring-up activities.
  • Assist in debugging hardware and firmware issues on PCBs.
  • Prepare test reports and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Visit on-site locations for requirement gathering and solution development as needed.
  • Test and validate drivers, motors, controllers and other electronic products.

  • Accurate execution of assigned hardware design and testing tasks
  • Successful board bring-up and completion of test activities
  • Ability to debug hardware and firmware-related issues
  • Clear and well-maintained documentation and test reports
  • Demonstrated improvement in technical understanding and hands-on skills


Key Competencies:


  • Good understanding of basic electronics and circuit behaviour
  • knowledge of PCB layout concepts and schematic drawing
  • Basic understanding of microcontrollers and microprocessors, including their role in system control
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN
  • Ability to perform structured debugging of hardware and firmware issues
  • Basic exposure to Arduino or embedded C programming for writing and testing sample code
  • Attention to detail to ensure correct system-level integration
  • Ability to listen, understand requirements, and adapt solutions accordingly


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication, or related engineering discipline
  • Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of experience in R&D, hardware design, or embedded systems
  • Academic, project, or internship experience in electronics, PCB design, or controller-based systems
  • Hands-on exposure to schematic design, PCB layout, or hardware testing tools
  • Experience with Arduino, basic embedded programming, or firmware debugging is a plus
