System Engineer

The team is looking to hire a Systems Engineer with a strong background in virtualization to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing complex IT systems, with a focus on Azure and virtualization infrastructure. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with network engineers and architects to design and implement network solutions that align with business objectives.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance of IT systems.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams and stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Azure and IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an IT Systems Engineer, with a focus on virtualization.
• Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as VMWare / ESXi, Microsoft Windows, Linux / Unix hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.
• Hands-on experience with configuring and managing infrastructure, including virtual servers, services, and policies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
