MISSION
Lead the development of high-performance optical wireless communication systems , focusing on system architecture, signal processing, and adaptive control algorithms to optimize performance under dynamic real-world conditions.
GOALS
- System Development & Optimization: Design, simulate, and implement optical wireless communication architectures that improve data transmission efficiency and resilience.
- Channel Modeling & Analysis: Develop and refine propagation models to mitigate signal degradation caused by atmospheric turbulence and non-ideal transmission channels .
- Advanced Control & Signal Processing: Design adaptive tracking algorithms and real-time signal correction techniques to ensure stable, high-integrity communication links.
- Cross-Disciplinary Integration: Work with hardware, photonics, and software engineering teams to optimize transceiver performance.
- Technical Communication: Generate technical reports, research publications, and stakeholder presentations , translating complex system insights into actionable strategies.
FUNCTIONS
- Define system architectures and create simulation frameworks for next-generation optical wireless communication systems .
- Develop advanced modeling techniques to predict and enhance system performance under real-world conditions .
- Implement and optimize control algorithms for beam tracking, synchronization, and error correction .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams , ensuring seamless integration of photonics, electronics, and embedded software .
- Analyze system performance , iterating on design improvements to enhance signal reliability and robustness .
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field .
- Extensive research and development experience in optical wireless communication, free-space optics, or high-speed optical networking .
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of optical signal processing, wavefront correction, and advanced communication architectures .
- Proficiency in optical link analysis and modeling tools (e.g., VPItools, Optisystem, Simulink ).
- Expertise in optical modulation, coding techniques, and adaptive error correction algorithms .
- Strong background in tracking and stabilization systems for optical communication links.
- Experience in integrating photonic devices with electronic and software-driven control systems .
