As a Systems Engineer, you’ll help shape a highly available HCI platform that powers one of Europe’s largest email services, serving over 42 million users across WEB.DE, GMX, and mail.com. This platform delivers cloud-like virtualization "on-prem" with GitOps-style management, elastic workloads, and transparent "VM to Kubernetes" interoperability through KubeVirt. Your work enables application teams to run workloads securely, efficiently, and with predictable performance across data centers, while laying the foundation for future Kubernetes-native platform services.

You will:

  • Design, implement, and operate a Harvester- and Kubernetes-based virtualization platform.
  • Integrate distributed storage and manage compute resources across clusters.
  • Automate provisioning, lifecycle, troubleshooting, and monitoring using Ansible, GitOps pipelines, and APIs.
  • Conduct migrations, performance tuning, benchmarking, and incident response across virtualization estates.
  • Collaborate with platform, networking, and storage teams to ensure robust end-to-end infrastructure services.
