Your Key Responsibilities
Position Purpose
Schaeffler aims to strengthen its position as a leading system supplier in E-Mobility. This role was created to ensure seamless integration of electronics and mechatronic subsystems—particularly Power Electronics—into global system projects. Many key suppliers for these technologies are located in Asia-Pacific, especially Japan. The Systems Engineer will act as a technical bridge between Schaeffler’s global R&D teams and regional suppliers, enabling fast response times and successful project execution worldwide. The position supports both local customer projects and global initiatives where Japanese suppliers provide Power Electronics.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Interface & Collaboration
Serve as the primary technical counterpart for suppliers and partners in Japan.Collaborate closely with the German headquarters R&D team to resolve technical issues during mass production development.
Participate in technical meetings with customers, partners, and suppliers; travel to customer sites or headquarters as needed.
Product Development & Support
Support mass production development of automotive power electronics products, primarily Power Electronics Units (PEU) for E-Drive Systems.Provide technical assistance for promoting power electronics products to customers.
Research & Innovation
Promote and support R&D activities in collaboration with Japanese universities, research institutes, and partners.Prepare and deliver technology and market benchmark reports to the German R&D department.
Leadership & Project Coordination
Lead and coordinate the system development team, ensuring effective collaboration and task execution.Approve subsystem technical solutions and drive system releases and deliveries.
Develop project plans and timelines to ensure timely delivery of system engineering projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives; gather requirements to align project goals.
Coordinate system releases and deliveries, including planning, execution, and delivery.
Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in project deliverables.
Lead and coordinate technical activities performed by the system development team (estimation, planning, task assignment, internal and external alignment).
Coordinate other disciplines if no Technical Project Manager is present.
