Job Description
As a Systems Specialist, you will play a key role in deploying and commissioning advanced automation and control technologies across commercial and industrial facilities nationwide. This role requires extensive travel—up to 75% or more—to support project execution, system startups, and client collaboration. You will leverage your expertise with platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Tridium Niagara, Distech, and related systems to directly impact operational performance and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Commissioning & Startup: Lead commissioning, startup, and validation of PLC and DDC control systems, ensuring reliable operation and seamless integration.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, clients, electricians, and field teams to deliver fully integrated automation solutions.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate system documentation, drawings, and change logs that reflect current project status and standards.
- On-Site Technical Leadership: Provide on-site technical oversight, guide subcontractors, enforce quality standards, and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Travel-Based Support: Travel extensively to job sites (up to 75%+), supporting project execution from startup through completion.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, BACnet, or similar platforms (e.g., Inductive Automation Ignition, ICONICS).
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in PLC and BAS installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Controls Knowledge: Solid understanding of HVAC control theory, electronics, and electrical circuits.
- Communication & Problem Solving: Self-driven professional with strong communication skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience with DDC controls, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and BACnet protocols.
- Familiarity with Tridium Niagara or other BAS platforms.
- Experience with Active Directory and SAML 2.0 integrations.
