General Function
The Systems Administrator I will provide entry-level system support including, planning, deploying, troubleshooting and maintenance in all aspects of the infrastructure environment. The Systems Administrator I will be required to perform entry level to mid-level technical and administrative tasks. This candidate will be performing duties within the scope of Central Piedmontβs policy and procedures.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
β Ensuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
β Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
β Collecting and analyzing data to forecast infrastructure system needs before issues arise
β Identifying issues and implementing plans for remediation before the issues negatively impact the business.
β Performing Active Directory Administration tasks
β Performing Software Updates (Windows and other 3rd party software)
β Installing and configuring software and hardware on physical and virtual systems
β The ability to read and write instructions, see, hear, operate a computer, comprehend, and then carry out directives when instructed
β Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position
β The ability to work on-site
β Predictable, reliable, and prompt attendance
β Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Characteristics
β Proficient with Computer and Server Operating Systems in a virtual machine environment
β Proficient with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of virtual computer systems
β Extensive knowledge and experience with Windows Server Operating Systems
β Extensive knowledge and experience with Active Directory
β Extensive knowledge and experience with storage, virtual machines or Cisco UCS equipment
β Monitoring, working tickets in the ticketing system and seeing them through to completion
β βHow toβ documentation of Infrastructure procedures
β Handling emergent issues as they arise
β Server setup, deployment and maintenance
β Windows workstation and server patching
β Office 365 administration and maintenance
β Storage Administration
β VMWare Administration
β Citrix Server Administration
β Backup and Data Retention activities
β Assisting vendors and other 3rd parties with implementation of any professional service installations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
β Associate Degree in IT or related field or higher
β At least 2 years of experience in the Information Technology field
β Industry certifications that demonstrate proficiency with Enterprise I.T. Infrastructure such as Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.
β Certifications relevant to the items in Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics are preferred.
β ITIL Foundation certification is required (or should be obtained within 9 months of appointment).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary for this position is $47,817 - $74,118.Β Pay grade for this position is L. Initial placement for new employees is customarily at entry level through 25% percentile.Β Contract type is Professional. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
