Job Description

This role leads the design and delivery of security infrastructure and systems that protect enterprise platforms and customer workloads. The position focuses on secure architecture, modern cryptography, compliance, monitoring, and threat mitigation while managing engineering teams responsible for building and operating security-focused system software.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Architecture & Platform Capabilities:

  • Design and deliver security infrastructure to protect information flow for customers and application developers.
  • Integrate platform security with enterprise authentication and access control architectures.
  • Implement modern cryptography solutions for secure data protection and key management.
  • Enable monitoring of NonStop workloads using modern observability tools and techniques.
  • Implement advanced forensic capabilities to track and audit user actions.
  • Support customers in implementing regular compliance measures and demonstrating regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor emerging security threats and research new technologies to address evolving risks.

Engineering Leadership & Delivery:

  • Provide direct leadership to teams designing and developing security products, features, and enhancements.
  • Coordinate multiple security-related projects, ensuring alignment with product and organizational roadmaps.
  • Manage project plans including dependencies, risks, mitigation strategies, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective allocation of resources to meet timelines, quality, cost, and scope objectives.

Operational & Customer Support:

  • Assist in resolving complex customer-reported security and system issues from the field.
  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Oversee secure development practices across ongoing product enhancements.

People Management & Development:

  • Manage hiring, performance planning, coaching, and career development for engineering team members.
  • Build growth and development plans to strengthen team capability and technical depth.
  • Support workforce development across geographically distributed teams.

Process Improvement & Governance:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, secure development practices, and governance standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • 6+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of security fundamentals including authentication, access control, auditing, cryptography, ciphers, and key management.
  • Experience architecting secure software systems and security-focused products.
  • Solid understanding of secure design and secure programming principles.
  • Proven experience leading systems software and security feature development.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects across distributed teams.
