Systems Testing/QA Specialist

Overview

The Justice Technology Services – Digital Design Branch requires one (1) Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist with 5+ years of experience to support the development of a modern digital information system and its integration with internal and external applications.

The selected specialist will:

• Develop test strategy , test approach , and test plan .
• Prepare appropriate-level test cases for functional and unit testing.
• Perform functional/unit testing and document results.
• Provide critical expertise and support for test automation (planning, approach, and implementation).
• Assist other teams with related testing activities (e.g., UAT or recreating production issues).
• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Testing and Quality Assurance of cloud-based enterprise-scale digital products .
• Solid experience in API and integration testing .
• Knowledge of Accessibility / AODA compliance .
• Knowledge of performance and stress testing .
• Hands-on technical skills and experience in test automation (e.g., Selenium, SoapUI, Postman).

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Knowledge of test automation engineering practices and processes .

Desired Skills and Experience

• Quality Assurance Skills:
• 7+ years of experience in defect tracking using collaborative tools to manage defects and change requests.
• Experience developing test plans, test scripts, and test data ; documenting software defects and tracking resolutions.
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and leading initial UAT sessions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge and experience with automated test tools and version control systems .
• Familiarity with all phases of the Systems Development & Product Management Life Cycle .
• Experience with issue tracking systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Asana .
• VOR Master Service Agreement expires on April 5, 2027 , with a six-month survival clause allowing continuation until October 5, 2027 .
• Extensions are only allowed using unused days and/or funds remaining on the contract.
• Start date is subject to change based on security clearances and contract signing timelines .

• Experience with issue tracking tools and test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of Accessibility/AODA compliance.
• Business Skills – 25 Points
• Strong communication and collaboration with clients and technical teams.
• Critical thinking and ability to balance quality requirements with timelines.
• Public Sector Experience – 5 Points
• Previous experience in Government or Public Sector organisations.
