Location: South Riding, VA 20152
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM – 3:00 PM (7.25 hrs/day, includes 30-min break)
Contract: 21 weeks
Pay: $20–$25/hour (Weekly: $725–$906)
Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support an Elementary Emotional Disabilities (ED) Program. This role provides academic, behavioral, and emotional support in a structured classroom environment, working closely with special education staff to support student success.
Responsibilities
Support small-group and one-on-one instruction
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and reinforce positive behaviors
Assist with classroom management and student supervision
Observe and document student progress and behaviors
Ensure student safety during class, transitions, lunch, and recess
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (Paraprofessional certification preferred)
Experience in special education, behavioral support, or school settings preferred
Patient, calm, and professional in high-stress situations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to assist with physical redirection when required for safety
