Army JROTC Instructor
Initial Application Process:
Prior to employment, all prospective Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) instructors must receive certification from the U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC) through the Army JROTC Instructor Management Division.
The initial application process evaluates candidates for suitability and compliance with program standards, including verification of honorable service, time since retirement or separation, educational background, and commitment to instruction within a high school setting. Applicants must generally be retired or honorably discharged Army officers or noncommissioned officers with a minimum of eight years of military service, and retired or separated within the previous five years. Members of the Selected Reserve may also be eligible if they meet applicable requirements.
Applications are submitted via the official Army JROTC website (https://usarmyjrotc.army.mil), where current vacancies and program eligibility requirements are maintained. Applicants not meeting specific time-since-retirement or other qualification thresholds may request a waiver from the Chief of Instructor DRAFTManagement for hard-to-fill or extended vacancie
Applicants must be retired or honorably discharged Army officers or NCOs with at least eight years of service. Applications are submitted viahttps://usarmyjrotc.army.mil, followed by a Tier 1 (CNACI) background check and USACC certification.
Selection Process:
Candidate Selection and Required Documentation: Final hiring authority rests with the school or district. Once a candidate is selected, the following steps are required:
+ Licensing: Obtain the necessary CDE licensing, specifically an Adjunct Authorization. This must align with Army JROTC standards, as instructors teach only JROTC-approved curriculum. Districts and states may have supplemental professional licensure, training, or continuing education requirements.
+ Certification Verification: Verify the instructor's certification with the U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC).
+ Required Forms: Complete a Request for Hire Letter and DD Form 2767 (Annual Certification of Pay and Data) within 30 calendar days of selection.
+ Submission to Army JROTC: Send endorsed certification documentation to the Army JROTC Instructor Management Division via email: [email protected].
+ Army Verification and Pay Calculation: Upon receipt of documentation, USACC verifies certification status, calculates the Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) using the JROTC Standardized Instructor Pay System (JSIPS).
