Team Lead - Anesthesia Coding

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Lead – Anesthesia Coding to manage day-to-day coding operations, ensure compliance with quality standards, and guide a team of coders to deliver accurate and timely output. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Anesthesia coding, deep understanding of ASA and CPT guidelines, and strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of Anesthesia coders, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and adherence to SLAs.
• Conduct quality checks, audits, and feedback sessions to maintain coding excellence.
• Support the team in resolving complex coding and documentation issues.
• Stay current with updates to CPT, ICD-10-CM, ASA, and payer-specific guidelines.
• Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and performance coaching for team members.
• Collaborate with QA, Training, and Operations teams to improve workflow efficiency.
• Track team performance and share daily/weekly reports with management.
• Assist the manager in client communication, process reviews, and escalations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company security policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• CPC Certification is mandatory.
• Experience: 5–8 years in medical coding with minimum 2–3 years of Anesthesia coding experience.
• Sound understanding of ASA guidelines, modifiers, concurrency, and time-based unit calculations.
• Exposure to facility and professional coding workflows.
• Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Cerner) and MS Office tools.
• Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and manage a small to mid-sized team (10–25 coders).
