Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

  • Process payrolls in the payroll system software and performs payroll balance routines
  • Prepare account reconciliations, corrective payroll journal entries, preparation and remittance of various government forms (i.e. ROE, T4)
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employee groups (hourly, salaried, contract).
  • Review and approve payroll runs to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure proper calculation of statutory withholdings, benefits, overtime, and other earnings.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Mentor and support payroll specialists/coordinators.
  • Assign workload, set priorities, and ensure service-level expectations are met.
