Job Description

ERM is seeking a strategic and experienced Team Leader – Data, Analytics and Visualization to lead a newly formed team supporting both Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation (LPMR) and Capital Project Delivery (CPD) service work. This role will oversee a multidisciplinary group of professionals with expertise in environmental data management, GIS, and Data Analytics, Visualization, and Automation.

The ideal candidate will be a people-focused leader with strong technical acumen, capable of driving innovation, ensuring data quality, and delivering impactful insights across a diverse portfolio of environmental and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team ofDAV professionals including data managers, GIS specialists, and data scientists.

  • Define team structure, roles, and responsibilities aligned with LPMR and CPD service goals.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.

  • Support career development, training, and performance management.

    • Technical Oversight

  • Oversee integration of laboratory, field, and historical data into EarthSoft’sEQuIS databases and Esri GIS platforms.

  • Ensure data quality through validation and verification in accordance with national and regional guidelines (e.g., USEPA NFGs, TRRP, NYSDEC DUSR).

  • Guide development of automated reporting workflows, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, and SQL.

  • Supervise spatial data management and geospatial analysis to support environmental and capital project decision-making.

    • DAV Strategy & Innovation

  • Champion the use of advanced analytics, automation, and visualization to enhance environmental and capital project data workflows.

  • Collaborate with internal technical communities to develop and implement innovative DAV solutions.

  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve data efficiency, insight generation, and client value.

    • Project & Client Engagement

  • Serve as a technical liaison for clients and internal stakeholders across LPMR and CPD programs.

  • Support proposal development, budgeting, and scoping for data, GIS, and DAV components.

  • Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and quality assurance processes.

  • Ensure alignment of team outputs with client expectations and regulatory requirements.

    • Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Data Science, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental data management, GIS, and/or data analytics, including 3+ years in a leadership role.

  • Advanced proficiency with EarthSoft’sEQuIS software and modules.

  • And/Or advanced proficiency withEsri GIS platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).

  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL).

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    • Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing portfolio-level data quality and analytics programs.

  • Background in environmental chemistry and analytical laboratory processes.

  • Experience writing and implementing SOPs for data quality, GIS, and DAV workflows.

  • Familiarity with LPMR and CPD programs.

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and automation tools.
