UMO is a stealth-mode FinTech venture aiming to evolve the way people experience money by building a unified, AI-powered, yet deeply human modern money platform across fiat, crypto, and investments—subject to regulatory approvals. The platform is being designed to break down traditional barriers to money across access, assets, and experience, enabling simpler, more adaptive ways for people to interact with financial services.

We are currently developing our MVP and navigating licensing requirements, with a multidisciplinary team of 100+ people representing 20+ nationalities. What You'll Do

As a Tech Lead SecOps , you will own and drive the security strategy across our cloud infrastructure, applications, and development processes. You will design and implement security standards for a high-load fintech environment, ensuring our platform stays resilient, compliant, and protected.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine deep technical expertise with the ability to guide engineering teams and influence security decisions across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and lead SecOps function, defining security roadmap and best practices
• Design and maintain secure AWS environments (IAM, WAF, networking, encryption, monitoring)
• Implement and improve security tooling for cloud, CI/CD, and runtime environments
• Establish secure SDLC practices and collaborate with Go engineering teams
• Develop policies for identity and access management, secrets management, and key rotation
• Lead incident response, post-mortems, and security investigations
• Implement vulnerability management processes (scanning, prioritization, remediation)
• Drive infrastructure and application hardening initiatives
• Own threat detection, monitoring, and alerting improvements
• Conduct security reviews for architecture, infrastructure, and code changes
• Ensure compliance with industry standards relevant to fintech environments
• Mentor engineers and promote security-first culture across teams

You’re a Perfect Fit If You Have:

• 5+ years in Security Engineering / SecOps / Cloud Security
• Strong AWS security expertise (IAM, networking, WAF, KMS, encryption, monitoring)
• Experience securing Kubernetes-based environments
• Understanding of secure CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Hands-on experience with security scanning tools (SAST/DAST, container scanning, dependency scanning)
• Solid knowledge of networking and security fundamentals
• Experience with incident response and vulnerability management
• Leadership experience (team lead, security owner, or cross-team leadership)
• Proactive mindset and ownership attitude

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in fintech, crypto, banking, or other regulated/high-security domains
• Knowledge of security for Go-based applications
• Experience with threat modeling and risk assessment
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, ISO27001, GDPR)
• Open-source contributions in security or DevOps tooling
• Experience with multi-region AWS environments
