Job Description
Technical Business Analyst - Cyber
- Preston, 4 days onsite / 1 day WFH
- 3 months initially, 18+ month extension roadmap
- $750 - $820 p/d inclusive
The Opportunity
Are you a Technical BA who thrives in the "Discovery" phase? Do you enjoy untangling complex dependencies and mapping out the future of an enterprise application landscape?
Following a major merger the company are embarking on a massive Application Rationalisation and Cyber Streamlining program . They are looking for a heavy-hitting Technical Business Analyst to lead the discovery, analysis, and planning required to decommission and migrate business-critical, cyber, and security applications.
This isn't a high-level "process mapping" role—this is a technical deep-dive into interfaces, data flows, and SQL environments within a complex, high-volume ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
You will be the bridge between the Integration Team, Cyber Security, and the broader Business, ensuring that decommissioning occurs without disrupting the supply chain.
- Deep-Dive Discovery: Execute technical discovery for targeted applications (interfaces, data flows, service accounts, telemetry, and reporting dependencies).
- Technical Documentation: Produce detailed impact analyses and migration "run sheets" (pre-checks, validation, and rollback plans).
- Governance & ITIL: Draft ITIL change artefacts (Implementation, Risk, Test, and Communication plans) and present them to the CAB.
- Cyber & Risk: Conduct risk assessments (security, compliance, and continuity) and ensure alignment with security architecture standards.
- Vendor & License Management: Inventory licenses and contractual terms to identify cost-saving opportunities during consolidation.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with SMEs across Cyber, Risk, and IT to obtain approvals and drive consensus on migration paths.
Required Experience
We are looking for an experienced analyst with at least 10 years of experience in enterprise, including application support and lifecycle management.
- Technical Proficiency: You can interpret architecture diagrams, integration flows, and have hands-on experience with MS SQL Server (security hardening and database management).
- Lifecycle Expert: Proven experience in migrating or decommissioning enterprise-scale applications.
- Cyber Awareness: Familiarity with IT security platforms, SOC telemetry, and data retention standards (Privacy Act/GDPR).
- Governance Fluency: Strong knowledge of ITIL Change Management and working within structured frameworks (CAB, ARB).
- Communication: The ability to translate "technical debt" into a business case for a Steering Committee while maintaining rapport with Level 2 support engineers
Please note: A National Police Check and a valid Driver’s Licence are required for this position
