farming techniques and promoting profitable and sustainable farm practices.

ABOUT US
East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (EWS-KT) trains smallholder farmers in sustainable and
profitable vegetable farming techniques and improves their business skills. In this way, we aim to increase the
supply of safe-to-eat vegetables, while simultaneously catalyzing the development of innovative agricultural
input markets. By leveraging a market-driven approach, we help to position vegetable production as an
attractive and viable business opportunity for local communities.
EWS-KT actively supports smallholder farmers in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ghana, India, Myanmar, Nigeria, the
Philippines, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Since 2015, we have trained more than 1 million farmers in

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Identify villages for our vegetable farming interventions
● Provide technical support on vegetable production techniques to smallholder farmers in 10–15
selected villages per year, working with key farmers to establish 40 demonstration plots per year as
practical learning sites for farmers
● Train 1,000–1,200 farmers per year at these demonstration plots, with each farmer attending 2–5
practical training sessions in one season
● Organize 40 Field Days per year
QUALIFICATIONS
● Diploma or degree in agriculture/horticulture, or any other degree with field experience
● Must have a valid driver's license and a motorcycle
● One year of experience as a trainer in extension education
● Ability to effectively transfer the vegetable production knowledge to farmers
● Good time management and organizational skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language (Hindi for Chhattisgarh and
Assamese for Assam)
