Technical Manager - Design

Skill and Expertise:

• Proficient in creation and evaluation of production drawings including sheet metal, casting, piping, plastics, welding, and assembly drawings.
• Experience in using 3D CAD tools regularly; knowledge of CATIA and Teamcenter is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with and ability to review and comprehend international drawing methodologies and practices.
• Proficient in applying GD&T with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Strong understanding Manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, casting, forging, and welding.
• Exposure to Aerospace design standards and components.
• Sound understanding of quality processes and principles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive reviews of project deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards and guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Prepare and share best practices across teams to drive continuous quality improvement.
• Analyze quality data, perform root cause analysis, and develop action plans to address and resolve quality issues effectively.
• Conduct training sessions for new team members on:
  • Drawing standards.
  • GD&T applications.
  • Drawing best practices.
  • Effective self-QC methods.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of quality checks, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance quality standards and project efficiency.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
