Job Description: Technical Presales Lead Engineer (Atlassian, DevOps & AWS)

Description:
As the Technical Presales Lead, you will be the primary technical advisor for our sales team and the trusted architect for our prospective clients. You will lead the technical strategy for complex deals involving the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, JSM), DevOps transformations, and AWS Cloud infrastructure.
Your goal is to translate complex customer requirements into demonstrable, high-value solutions that showcase why MicroGenesis is the partner of choice. You will not only execute presales activities but also mentor junior engineers and shape our solutioning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Solution Architecture & Strategy
    Discovery & Needs Analysis: Lead deep-dive discovery sessions with client CTOs, Engineering Leads, and Product Managers to uncover pain points in their SDLC, ITSM, and Cloud infrastructure.
    Solution Design: Architect comprehensive solutions that integrate Atlassian tools with AWS cloud services and DevOps pipelines (CI/CD).
    Migration Strategy: Design migration roadmaps for clients moving from Server/Data Center to Atlassian Cloud or AWS-hosted Data Center instances.
  2. Technical Pre-Sales Execution
    Proof of Concept (POC): Configure and execute rapid POCs to demonstrate feasibility (e.g., setting up a Jira Service Management portal, configuring an advanced CI/CD pipeline in Bitbucket/Jenkins, or demonstrating AWS auto-scaling for Atlassian tools).
    Demos & Presentations: Deliver high-impact, tailored product demonstrations that focus on business value rather than just features.
    RFP/RFI Management: Lead the technical response for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring high-quality, accurate, and competitive technical proposals.
  3. Thought Leadership & Enablement
    Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the internal "Guru" for the sales team on the latest Atlassian features, AWS services, and DevOps trends.
    Marketplace Apps: Identify opportunities to position MicroGenesis’s proprietary Atlassian Marketplace apps or recommend third-party plugins (e.g., ScriptRunner, EazyBI) to solve niche problems.
    Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior presales engineers, reviewing their architecture and helping them grow their technical acumen.



Requirements

  • Essential Technical Skills:

    • Atlassian Expertise: Deep, hands-on administration and solutioning experience with Jira Software, Confluence, and Jira Service Management (JSM).
    • DevOps Ecosystem: Strong understanding of the end-to-end DevOps lifecycle. Proficiency with Git (Bitbucket/GitHub), Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
    • AWS Cloud: Practical experience with AWS core services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, EKS). Knowledge of "Atlassian on AWS" architecture is a major plus.
    • Migration Experience: Proven experience or theoretical mastery of migrating data from On-Premise to Cloud (using tools like JCMA/CCMA).
      Professional Competencies:
    • Presales Acumen: 3+ years specifically in a Presales, Solution Architect, or Technical Account Manager role.
    • Communication: Exceptional ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (C-level) and deep technical details to engineering teams.
    • Problem Solving: A consultative mindset—you listen to understand the problem before pitching a solution
      Certifications (Highly Preferred):
      Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certifications (e.g., ACP-100, ACP-600).
      AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
