Overview Position, Location, Department Full-time | Madrid, Spain | Technical Europe Position Summary The Technical Presales Manager ESS is responsible for providing technical pre-sales support for energy storage system solutions across the South-West Europe region. The role supports Sales teams by delivering technical expertise, solution design, bid support, and customer-facing presentations for utility-scale and residential ESS projects. Reporting line: Head of Technical Europe Your mission Major Responsibilities Provide technical pre-sales support for ESS pr oducts , including customer communication, technical clarification, and solution presentations in collaboration with Sales Design and configure ESS solutions, including product selection, system sizing, technica l preparation, and cost-related inputs for quotations Participate in tender and bidding processes; prepare and review technical bid documents in English and Chinese Support the drafting and review of technical specifications and technical agreements for ESS projects Act as a technical interface between Sales, HQ technical teams, product management, and customers Deliver internal and external technical training sessions for ESS products and solutions Support technical evaluations of customer requirements, grid standards, and project feasibility Contribute to continuous improvement of technical documentation , solution templates , and pre-sales processes Perform additional technical tasks or project support as assigned by leadership Performance Indicators Bid win support rate / technical contribution to successful tenders Turnaround time for technical proposals and configurations Number and quality of technical trainings delivered Reduction in technical clarification cycles or bid revisions Stakeholder feedback from Sales and customers Your profile Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field Proven experience in ESS technical support or pre-sales, preferably with utility-scale and/or residential energy storage systems Strong understanding of the European energy storage market, grid requirements, and customer expectations Strong technical expertise in energy storage systems and solution design Experience supporting large-scale ESS projects is strongly preferred English and Spanish : C1 (professional working proficiency ) Skills & Competencies Excellent communication and presentation skills, including creation and delivery of PPTs Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused working style Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Travel Requirement Regular travel across Spain/ Portugal as required Occasional travel within Europe JA Solar was founded in 2005.
