The Opportunity:

Are you ready to help shape the future of a platform that powers comparison for millions of Australians? As our Technical Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the evolution of Galaxy - our “comparison as a service” platform. Working closely with Delivery Leads, Engineering Managers, and a high-performing engineering team, you’ll bridge business strategy and technical execution.

In this role, you will:

• Help shape and maintain the product backlog for Galaxy, translating business objectives and technical requirements into actionable deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to inform technical solutions, participate in architectural reviews, and support migration and integration strategies.
• Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and shared understanding of priorities
• Guide the team alongside Delivery Leads and Engineering Managers through sprint planning, execution, and review, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and align with our technology roadmap
• Champion Agile best practices, monitor key delivery metrics (such as DORA, feature adoption, and post-release issues), and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and help resolve risks, dependencies, and blockers impacting Galaxy’s delivery.This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact at the intersection of technology and business, helping to deliver a platform that empowers Australians to make informed choices.

About you:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in a technical or platform environment.
• Comfortable working alongside engineers, Delivery Leads, and Engineering Managers, and able to engage in technical discussions about architecture and migration.
• Solid understanding of software development and Agile methodologies; experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to clearly translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Skilled at fostering collaboration and alignment across multiple teams and functions.
• Experience with tools like Jira or Azure DevOps is highly regarded.
