The Opportunity:
As part of the Procurement & Inventory team, you’ll manage the end to end sourcing of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) spares, supporting critical maintenance and reliability activities at our Whyalla steelmaking operations. Your ability to combine commercial insight with technical understanding will drive innovative, cost-effective, and timely outcomes.


  • Deliver departmental procurement strategies for assigned MRO categories aligned with business and capital plans.

  • Manage sourcing, tendering, contracting, and supplier performance across a broad technical portfolio.

  • Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to balance operational and commercial outcomes.

  • Interpret technical specifications and drawings to ensure fit-for-purpose decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with OneSteel’s Delegation of Authority and Procurement policies.

    • You’re proactive, analytical, and commercially savvy, with the confidence to operate in both industrial and corporate settings. You bring:

  • Experience in technical procurement or buying within manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry

  • Strong negotiation and supplier engagement skills.

  • Solid technical literacy and attention to detail.

  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
