Description: When you are a Field Service Engineer, you will drive 4000 series product problem management within the Asia Pacific region. You will have responsibility for following, identifying, evaluating, documenting, communicating and correcting specific engineering and workmanship deficiencies escalated to you from the field. You will enhance the acceptability of Perkins 4000 Series products and reduce warranty costs and customer impact on product problems.

Job Duties / Responsibilities (APAC) may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, investigate and resolve all escalated field issues - Whilst working with IPSD product support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Generate product health report / RCCA for escalated in field issues to support IPSD product support customer communications.
  • Perform on site re-work / repairs to 4000 series products as necessary.
  • Training of in field technicians for specific product issues
  • Collect in field reliability information to be used to prioritize Continuous Product Improvement projects.
  • DSN level 2 responsibility – provide answers to technical questions and support requests.
  • Adhere to processes and support the Service Engineering Manager & Supervisor in development of global and regional processes for the 4000 series Service Engineering team.
  • Support internal 4000 Series communications and training activities as needed.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Competent technical knowledge of the 4000 series engine range with demonstrated experience of in field issue resolution.
  • Prepared to travel frequently (within region) and at very short notice to support escalated in field product issues.
  • Good knowledge of technical training practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability in technical reporting / control.
  • Ability to communicate with external customers.
