Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Executive

Role Overview

We are looking for an engineer who is excited to transition into a customer-facing technical sales role. This position sits at the intersection of engineering, consulting, and sales, and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving customer problems, presenting solutions, and influencing buying decisions using strong technical depth.

You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Delivery teams to support pre-sales engagements, solution design, demos, and technical discussions with customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical advisor during the sales cycle, supporting discovery calls, solutioning, and technical validations
  • Understand customer requirements and map them to appropriate technical solutions and services
  • Deliver technical presentations, demos, workshops, and proof-of-concepts to customers
  • Collaborate with sales teams to create proposals, solution architectures, and effort estimates
  • Build credibility with customer engineering, security, and operations teams
  • Support RFP/RFI responses with strong technical inputs
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and competitive offerings
  • Provide feedback from the field to internal product and delivery teams



Required Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience in an engineering, consulting, SRE, DevOps, security, or platform-focused role
  • Strong fundamentals in at least one of the following domains:
  • Security (SIEM, SOAR, SOC, Cloud Security, etc.)

Observability / Monitoring

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills
  • Comfortable interacting with customers, including senior technical stakeholders
  • Willingness and motivation to move into a technical sales / pre-sales role


Good to Have

  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles (consulting, support, solutions engineering, pre-sales)
  • Exposure to SaaS products and enterprise customers
  • Experience working with tools like Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Elastic, cloud-native tools, or security platforms
  • Certifications in cloud or security technologies
  • Basic understanding of sales cycles, deal qualification, and value-based selling
