Role Overview
The Technical Sales Engineer – Robotics Division will serve as the key interface between customers, engineering, and business teams.
The role requires deep technical understanding of robotic systems and strong commercial acumen to drive client acquisition across government, PSU, and enterprise markets.
This position is central to converting technical capability into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Sales & Client Engagement
• Conduct detailed technical & commercial presentations for clients (online and offline).
• Understand customer operational requirements, constraints, and use-cases and translate them into tailored robotic solutions.
• Develop clear value propositions aligned with customer segments:
• Government & PSUs
• Oil & Gas
• Ports & Shipping
• Disaster Response & SDRF
• Infrastructure & Environmental Agencies
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, demos, and proof-of-concept programs.
2. Proposal & Offer Development
• Prepare techno-commercial offers, BOQs, costing sheets, and solution architecture documents.
• Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure feasibility, timelines, and pricing accuracy.
• Build detailed solution documents including:
• System configuration
• Performance parameters
• Compliance requirements
• Implementation plans
3. Tendering & Government Sales Support
• Read and analyze Government tenders, RFPs, EOIs in detail.
• Support bid strategy development including:
• Technical compliance
• Eligibility criteria
• Commercial structuring
• Partner / consortium strategy
• Assist in pre-bid meetings and respond to technical queries.
4. Market Intelligence & Competition Mapping
• Track market developments and emerging opportunities.
• Perform competition mapping and pricing intelligence.
• Identify differentiation points for each customer segment and tender opportunity.
5. CRM & Sales Operations
• Maintain accurate and updated data in the CRM system:
• Leads
• Opportunities
• Pipeline status
• Client communications
• Generate periodic sales reports and forecasts.
• Ensure systematic follow-ups and opportunity closure tracking.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical
• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Robotics / Mechatronics / Engineering.
• Strong understanding of:
• Robotics systems & components
• Sensors, actuators, control systems
• Software & automation architecture
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in business language.
Commercial & Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical & documentation abilities.
• High comfort with customer engagement and negotiations.
• Ability to work across technical, operations, and management teams.
Experience
• 2–7 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solution engineering in robotics, automation, defense, industrial equipment, or related sectors.
• Prior exposure to government tenders & B2 G sales highly preferred.
