My client is a global oil and gas services company, based in Kuala Lumpur. They are looking for a Technical Service Engineer due to rapid expansion.

Job Description

  • Deliver technical services and support (before and after commissioning) for petrochemical complexes, covering the company’s licensed technologies as well as non-licensed units operating with the company’s catalysts or adsorbents. This includes troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Provide process monitoring and training for petrochemical technologies such as selective hydrogenation, MTBE, and homogeneous and heterogeneous oligomerization.
  • Offer on-site assistance for unit start-ups, troubleshooting, inspections, and catalyst/adsorbent loading and activation activities.
  • Conduct continuous unit performance follow-up and analysis in close collaboration with the company’s SEA Technical Services Group and other Regional Operating Centers (ROCs).
  • Supervise on-site field activities during missions and prepare related procedures and technical reports.
  • Support customers with technical troubleshooting and report findings to the Technical Services Group to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the delivery and facilitation of customer training programs.
  • Support the promotion of the company’s technologies and services during technical meetings.
  • Assist commercial activities in coordination with the commercial team.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the company’s quality standards, headquarters policies, and QHSE objectives during on-site activities.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in line with the company’s expected standards of performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of one year of operational experience in the refining or petrochemical industry.
  • Solid knowledge of selective hydrogenation processes and the basic operation of petrochemical units is mandatory.
  • International academic or professional experience is considered an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and capacity to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • Well-organized, methodical, autonomous, and responsible, with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in understanding the technical scope of the company’s portfolio.
  • Required language: fluent English.
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently.
