Lead technical innovation with a global chemical specialist

Our client is a leading worldwide specialist in the development, manufacture, and supply of metalworking fluids. In Europe, the company produces a broad range of metalworking products, including water-based and straight oil coolants for metal cutting and grinding. Sales and distribution are handled through its own sales branches in nine European countries, supported by a network of distributors across additional markets.

The Role

As Technical Service Manager (TSM), you will oversee the technical management of an assigned customer base, ensuring product performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth. You’ll lead product testing and technical support, helping to future-proof the product line and train new Sales Engineers on existing and new formulations. The TSM reports directly to the Sales Manager and is an integral member of the Engineering Management Team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams


  • Support the Branch Manager on customer and segment business development opportunities


  • Visit clients and prospects with the Sales Engineer/Sales Manager


  • Identify new growth opportunities and provide technical input for acquisition


  • Initiate and support new product launches and field testing


  • Interpret and communicate laboratory results to stakeholders


  • Offer feedback on product performance to Headquarters and support new product development


  • Take a leading role in technically driven activities


  • Manage a small team of Technical Service Engineers (if applicable)


Must-Haves


  • Degree in Chemical or Technical Engineering


  • Experience in manufacturing or production, ideally in metalworking


  • Understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) legislation and its impact


  • Proven track record of technical and business achievements


  • Fluency in German and English


Nice-to-Haves


  • Knowledge of cleaners, heat treatment, or special lubrication


  • Basic understanding of finance and management principles


  • Additional European language skills
