About the Role:

A respected industry organisation is seeking a qualified and experienced Technical Services Officer to provide expert advice and support across the plumbing sector. The position plays a key role in delivering value to members and stakeholders through technical guidance, regulatory interpretation, and contributions to projects that enhance industry standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and regulatory advice to industry professionals, regulators, and consumers.
  • Interpret and apply plumbing standards, codes, and relevant legislation.
  • Review plans and specifications to design and size compliant roof drainage systems.
  • Prepare technical content, articles, and correspondence for publication and stakeholder communication.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and contribute to industry submissions and advocacy.
  • Support projects that improve processes, compliance outcomes, and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical enquiries and provide timely follow-up.

About you:

You are a technically capable professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You enjoy problem-solving, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of industry practices.

You must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a technical role within the plumbing or broader construction industry.
  • Sound understanding of plumbing regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret Australian Standards and apply them to practical situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capability.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Relevant vocational or tertiary qualification (mandatory).
  • Certificate III or IV in Plumbing Services (highly desirable).
  • Registered or licensed plumber (desirable).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (advantageous).
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence and the ability to satisfy police and Working with Children checks.
