Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Hardware Engineer to join our technical infrastructure team in Pune. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our physical computing environment. The ideal candidate has a strong "hands-on" background in hardware life cycle management, from unboxing and configuration to complex component-level repair and asset disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration: Set up, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops (Windows/macOS), servers, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, docking stations).
- Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and hardware upgrades (RAM, SSD/HDD, CMOS batteries).
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues including Blue Screen of Errors (BSOD), power failures, and connectivity problems.
- Networking Hardware: Basic configuration and troubleshooting of network devices like routers, switches, and Access Points (APs).
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets using internal tracking tools;
manage the hardware procurement process. - Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors for warranty claims, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), and complex hardware repairs.
- Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote hardware support to end-users to ensure minimal downtime.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related Diploma.
- Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in IT hardware support or a Field Engineer role.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) is highly preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of PC architecture, Motherboards, and Chipsets.
- Familiarity with server hardware (Rack/Blade servers) and storage systems (NAS/SAN).
- Basic understanding of BIOS/UEFI settings and OS deployment (PXE boot, Imaging).
Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think logically and resolve issues under pressure.
- Communication: Fluent in English and Hindi (Marathi is a plus for local vendor coordination).
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours if critical hardware failures occur.
